CENTRE-BASED PROGRAM - Centre for Child Development (CCD)
When a child comes to the CCASVA CCD it is because they have been abused; physically or sexually, forced to beg, forced to work in dangerous locations, removed from education or are malnourished and very sick. Others have been exposed to trafficking or rescued from karaoke bars or brothels.
All of the children have been exploited in one way or another.
The CCD is a safe house, a refuge, a place where a child can re-gather their strength; mental and physical, receive care, love and special attention, and perhaps help them restore faith and confidence in themselves. The Centre is non religious and non denominational.
The CCD's primary purpose is to provide safety for abused children however education is the key to their recovery. These children crave education and once enrolled into a school, become the most dedicated little students. We have CCD children now topping their class!
The Centre provides food, safe shelter, emergency relief, health care and education, literacy, medical check-ups, child rights education, skills training both in and out of the center, according to the children's need's.
Physical exercise, counselling and reconciliation, re-integration into the community and the provision of a revolving fund to assist children to use their skills for income generation.
